This calculator estimates the efficiency of a transmitter based on its electrical input power and RF output power. Efficiency is expressed as a percentage and represents how much of the input power is converted into useful RF output.

The formula used is: \[ \text{Efficiency (\%)} = \left( \frac{P_{\text{out}}}{P_{\text{in}}} \right) \times 100 \]

• Input Power: Total power consumed by the transmitter (from DC supply or AC input)
• Output Power: Actual RF power delivered to the antenna or load

Power lost as heat or in internal circuitry can be calculated as: \[ \text{Loss (W)} = P_{\text{in}} - P_{\text{out}} \]

Typical transmitter efficiency values:

• Class A: ~30–40%
• Class AB: ~50–60%
• Class C or D: 70–90%
