This calculator estimates the receiver sensitivity — the weakest signal your receiver can detect and decode reliably, based on its bandwidth, internal noise figure, and minimum required SNR.

It uses the equation: \[ P_{\text{min}} = -174 + 10 \log_{10}(B) + NF + SNR \] Where:

• -174 dBm/Hz = thermal noise floor at 290K (room temp)
• B = bandwidth in Hz
• NF = noise figure in dB
• SNR = signal-to-noise ratio required for usable audio or decoding

This is useful for comparing receiver quality, planning weak-signal operations (e.g. EME, FT8), or evaluating SDR performance.
