Impedance Matching Network Calculator (L-Network)

This calculator provides component values for an **L-network** impedance matching circuit, used to match a source (like a transceiver or amplifier) to a load (like an antenna).

The network consists of a series reactance and a shunt reactance (inductor or capacitor), arranged to either "step up" or "step down" the impedance.

Calculations assume a purely resistive source and load impedance. If complex (reactive) impedances are involved, a Smith chart or more advanced method may be required.

The equations are:

Then: \[ L = \frac{X}{2\pi f}, \quad C = \frac{1}{2\pi f X} \]

This is most commonly used in antenna matching, filter design, and RF power amplifiers.
