This calculator estimates the received signal power for Earth-Moon-Earth (EME) communications, also known as moonbounce. It uses a standard RF link budget formula with the Moon acting as a passive reflector.

Free space path loss over the ~768,800 km round-trip is calculated as: \[ L_p = 20 \log_{10}(d) + 20 \log_{10}(f) + 92.45 \] Where:

• d = 768,800 km
• f = frequency in MHz

The link budget is calculated as: \[ P_r = P_t + G_t + G_r - L_p - L_{\text{sys}} \] Result is in dBm. A typical EME link has over 250 dB of path loss.
