Coaxial Cable Length & Loss Calculator

Coaxial cables introduce signal loss over distance and frequency, measured in decibels (dB). This calculator estimates that loss based on the cable type, operating frequency, and length.

Loss increases with frequency and length. For example, RG-58 might have 6.5 dB loss per 100 ft at 100 MHz, but closer to 10 dB at 400 MHz.

The result shows total loss over your cable run, as well as the estimated loss per 100 ft. This helps determine when upgrading to lower-loss coax is worthwhile for your station.
