Capacitor Value Calculator

Capacitors often use a 3-digit or 4-digit marking to indicate their value in picofarads (pF). This calculator helps decode those markings into a readable capacitance value.

The value is calculated by taking the first two digits as the significant figures and the third digit as the multiplier (power of ten). For example:
104 → 10 × 10⁴ = 100,000 pF = 100 nF
472 → 47 × 10² = 4,700 pF = 4.7 nF

Larger capacitor values are often displayed in microfarads (µF), while smaller ones remain in nF or pF. This calculator automatically chooses the most readable unit.
